Before I started @cypruseats my goto restaurant was @akakikocy and somewhere down the track I kindof got sidetracked. Well, Thursday brought back alot of good memories from when eating out used to be an experience. The renovated Akakiko at Hilton Nicosia with new exciting dishes and some fresh faces (very friendly staff btw) really took me back to when it was first located in Makariou Ave some 20 years ago (yes I'm that old) The maki rolls all seem to have had an upgrade with more bold flavours & colors leaving me to wonder, should've I ordered more rolls that caught my eye, definitely next time. I found a great variety of Wagyu dishes, so I went for the Wagyu Tataki, thinly sliced pieces of raw wagyu in soy sauce. Also got some beef gyoza to accompany as a starter. Both recommended. Another must is the Popcorn Shrimps 🤌🏻 💯 They have a good selection of Bao Buns, which maybe next time I'll go for the prawn bao buns, as the table next to me ordered and I felt like getting up just to go and ask if I could take a photo (but that would be awkward😅) Another favourite at Akakiko are the soups. I would usually just go get a soup and was enough to fill me up back then, and I can say, its still a huge portion that any normal person can easily have as a whole meal (but Im not normal 🙄) Finally desserts. I had a hard time choosing from the six choices, but I knew anymore than 2 would just have people next to me wondering what the hell is wrong with me. The chocolate sphere is the best seller for a reason. Try it!!! Akakiko you managed to win me back!!! Proof is in the photos, the details can't lie.
