About Today! #🇨🇾 #♥️ · · · The Orthodox calendar today celebrates "Tsiknopempti" the day when people get to enjoy as much meat possible before Lent starts. The name translates to "smelly Thursday", as the smell from all the meat cooking on the charcoal spreads everywhere! It's the day where carnivores rejoice 😂
I made these souvlakia using pork neck. Cooked them under the oven grill at 220°C for about 10min on either side. I did not marinate them beforehand just simply massaged a bit of olive oil on them. Once they were cooked I brushed them with olive oil, lemon and oregano plus a generous amount of salt 😊
