So now at @mayiopoula we have 2 new separate menus, the new lunch menu by @siantris79 & the dinner menu by @andrew_tzo which I'll be trying soon also. @siantris79 operated in old town Nicosia, but now found it's new home at @mayiopoula and available weekdays for lunch. Mayiopoula now serves you classic lunch choices like Louvi, Fasoles, Afelia, Pasta with beef and that lamb with those traditional extra crispy sticky oven potatoes 😋 More menu items are available daily so follow their social media to be informed of menu items. The food is exceptionally good as you would expect from this well established restaurant. Portions are big, so I suggest sharing as to try more of each dish. @kick_ass_burger by Chef @theo_eleftheriou is the latest Burger craze edition in Nicosia and we are finally catching up to Limassol 😅😉 What makes this one unique is the super soft buttery buns and the double bun shape, where it gets its name from kick-ASS! 🍑 But it doesn't stop there. With 7 unique flavours all different from each other, I couldn't decide what to get so I had four burgers 🐷 🍔 Im Chicky 🍔 Im Cheese Nagasaki 🍔 Im Spongebob 🍔 Im Double Ttuffle 🐥 Im Tenders 🍟 Straight & Curly fries And finished with a dessert in the same bun with cream and oreo and crunchy bits. Hard to distinguish my favourite out of the bunch but I really enjoyed the Im Cheesy Nasagaki, and probably think it caters to all tastes. The chicken bites also nice and crunchy with a nice range kf dips to choose from, and fries cooked and seasoned perfectly. What another great find in the heart of Nicosia @topikamezebar is! Topika (meaning Local in greek) gets it's name from the concept of the restaurant. All ingredients are local and home grown either from their own plot in Flasou village or neighbouring farmers. These are all used to cook up some tasty, fresh and unique dishes. The dishes are so well balanced between each other, I would recommend getting various from the starter section, 1-2 fresh salads to share and a couple of fish dishes and 1 meat dish. Finally had the most delicious home made Baklava Cheesecake that was the special of the day. I got a couple of DM's to try some more desserts, but I'll save those for another day! Btw, the cocktails here are so refreshing with vibes of summer flavours All in all, @topikamezebar is highly recommended without a doubt!!! Long time wait, but finally made it to @rousrestaurant after 2 years since I last enjoyed their food experience. For those familiar with Rous, the have a 6 course dining menu that is handpicked creating you a journey of flavours to tickle your tastebuds. Fortunately for me they also have a extended experience and an a la carte menu also. Ended up doing a custom extended a la cart experience 😅 You may see the full menu on rous.com.cy Now as for my experience at Rous, I was utterly glad how it has maintained its glamour but even took it to higher levels. What clearly stood out this time was how the staff is more chilled and friendly than previous years, that I felt more serious but polite. This approach is more welcoming and I'm sure everyone would love it. As for the food, the new Executive Chef since I last came @andreas.yiangoullas would often come out and bring a dish himself which again gave the element of friendliness. Food was outstanding and loved the new menu for the season. My favourite dish surprisingly was the Red Mullet on a bed or Orzo. I mean the steak, rack of lamb, ceviche and other fish plates were all up to the same standerd, it just that I never tried Red Mullet this way before. Atmosphere & Music is superb, and looking forward to try the Chef table experience, that is located in front of the kitchen and you can see all the cooking of the night happening live. Finished the night with two dessert dishes, The lemon eton mess, which I eventually ordered a second. The apple pie is also outstanding. Stop ghosting me and like this post🥺 @hangryghostcy 👻 has taken over a second location in the heart of Nicosia, check📍location tag from this post A group of foodie friends and I decided to visit for a pre-summer gathering and test out some of the new items they had to offer! The smash burger was added this xmas, but most of us just got the chance to try and instantly became a favourite! I added a fried egg for that extra flavour Another new addition are the Poke bowls. These are healthy salads that you may build on your own for a lighter lunch that you can enjoy at work, or simply getting that sumner bod into shape (I wouldn't know 🥲) Other food pictured are the Duck & Pork belly bao buns, the Asian Prawn roll & Hot dog! The final addition was the dessert "Take A Bao" that are nutella stuffed bao buns. Even if you are down town, just passby for a set of 3 while you stroll Stasikratous & Makariou street. I-scream is another favourite, 3 ice-cream flavours, Chocolate, Peanut and Lemon that can also be enjoyed after your meal or just to go!

Before I started @cypruseats my goto restaurant was @akakikocy and somewhere down the track I kindof got sidetracked. Well, Thursday brought back alot of good memories from when eating out used to be an experience. The renovated Akakiko at Hilton Nicosia with new exciting dishes and some fresh faces (very friendly staff btw) really took me back to when it was first located in Makariou Ave some 20 years ago (yes I'm that old) The maki rolls all seem to have had an upgrade with more bold flavours & colors leaving me to wonder, should've I ordered more rolls that caught my eye, definitely next time. I found a great variety of Wagyu dishes, so I went for the Wagyu Tataki, thinly sliced pieces of raw wagyu in soy sauce. Also got some beef gyoza to accompany as a starter. Both recommended. Another must is the Popcorn Shrimps 🤌🏻 💯 They have a good selection of Bao Buns, which maybe next time I'll go for the prawn bao buns, as the table next to me ordered and I felt like getting up just to go and ask if I could take a photo (but that would be awkward😅) Another favourite at Akakiko are the soups. I would usually just go get a soup and was enough to fill me up back then, and I can say, its still a huge portion that any normal person can easily have as a whole meal (but Im not normal 🙄) Finally desserts. I had a hard time choosing from the six choices, but I knew anymore than 2 would just have people next to me wondering what the hell is wrong with me. Specialising in sourdough bread and other artisan bakery goods. Then I was told they had pistachio biscuits and sourdough pistachio bread. I was sold by this point. If you are in the area, stop by and get something for a quick bite or even one of their specialty coffees to go. New in Town is @olio_cy and boy was this a pleasant surprise. With views from Nicosia's 360 tower, overlooking Stasikratous street & the chilled atmosphere, well its this winters go to place 💯 I'm just goona talk about the show stopper in this post.... The steak!! Just look a it 🤤 cooked to perfection, and served with truffle oil that you sprinkle yourself with some herb stems. Two or more can share.... But next time Im having just for me, and then going straight to dessert. Again, just order all the desserts and share, it's more fun that way! We had so many plates to share and all were better than previous. Will definitely show off some more dishes in the future. So you've seen some 🍩 donuts I consumed lately, but have you seen these elcair shaped donuts? @funkytreatscy have a cool variety of ovalangular (think I just invented a word) donuts. I quite found these easier to eat than traditional donuts, and are alot less messy to handle given the shape 🤷🏻‍♂️ They do have the traditional round donuts also, and of course the mini donuts that are a MUST to try.
