One of our favourite restaurants for summer nights in Nicosia. We’ve visited Topika quite a few times over the years, and we genuinely think their new summer menu is one of their best yet. Our highlights were the beef carpaccio with smoked tuna mayonnaise and truffle oil, the arancini with graviera cheese and bacon jam, the eggplant ‘steak’, the squid orzotto and the marinated chicken thighs. We tried the new restaurant in Nicosia everyone’s talking about! Sumosan Cyprus has officially opened its doors at The Landmark Nicosia Hotel, serving contemporary Japanese dishes and unique signature cocktails in a stylish space. We tried a selection of dishes from the menu, from sushi to some of their unique mains. Hidden in the small streets of old Kaimakli, Paparouna Meze is the perfect spot to enjoy delicious meze dishes all summer in their beautiful yard! You can order the full meze set menu or make your own selection from the a la carte menu. We personally loved the orzo made with carob syrup, the egg-fried zucchini and afelia as well as the super tender chicken and pork souvlaki served beautifully on a platter of skewers along with the most delicious hand-cut fries! Less than an hour from Nicosia you can enjoy some of the most delicious meze we had in Cyprus! @psomikelia in Avgorou is open all year round serving both Cypriot and Greek dishes using local, seasonal ingredients. We really liked the fact that you can customize your own meze dishes in case you don’t like some of the things included in the regular meze option. The absolute highlights were the feta-stuffed sausage and the juicy beef chop cooked perfectly, as well as the fries, being in the Kokkinoxwria villages, they were probably the best fries we ever had at a taverna! Their menu also includes a dedicated delicacies section with options like Zalatina, Snails, Fried salted pork and other Cypriot-exclusive dishes. Right in the center of old Aglantzia you can find @kafeneioimikrirodia, a small coffee shop that also serves a delicious Cypriot brunch buffet on weekends with dishes like homemade courgette pie, fresh anari cheese, eggs and local sausages. Even if you don’t visit for their buffet, on their menu you’ll find traditional pies, sweets and homemade lemonade to enjoy the vibes of old Aglantzia. If you find yourself at the Georgios Andreou supermarket in Mitsero on a Saturday morning, you’ll definitely be in for a treat, as they make their own unique koupes that are not sold anywhere else in the world! 🌍 You can try koupes filled with sausage and halloumi, pastourma, olives, spinach and feta and other unique fillings, but they also make a really tasty traditional koupa filled with fragrant minced meat. Other than the savory fillings we also tried their sweett ‘koupinia’ filled with Nutella, pistachio, oreo and other popular fillings, and if you are lucky you might also get to try the viral ‘dubai koupa’! We didn’t expect to find the best French toast we ever tried on the menu of a liquor bar... but we did! Granazi has just restarted their “Days at Granazi”, serving brunch on weekends with their menu offering some unique options compared to the popular brunch classics. Το νέο Λιβανέζικο bakery της πόλης θα το βρεις δίπλα στην Πλατεία Ελευθερίας για να δοκιμάσεις φρεσκοψημένες λιβανέζικες πίτες, lahmajoun, wraps και δροσιστικές σαλάτες! Εμείς ξεκινήσαμε με ένα flatbread με ζάταρ, lahmajoun ψημένο σε τραγανή λεπτή πίτα και δύο παραδοσιακές Λιβανέζικες σαλάτες. Συνεχίσαμε με τρία από τα wraps τους, τυλιγμένα μέσα σε φρεσκοψημένα χειροποίητα flatbreads. Το αγαπημένο και των δύο μας ήταν το Great kafta wrap με βοδινό και αρνίσιο κιμά, μπαχαρικά και τυρί! Το best chicken wrap ήταν επίσης πάρα πολύ νόστιμο, δικαιολογημένα μία από τις πιο δημοφιλείς επιλογές στο μενού! Αν σου αρέσουν τα falafel τότε δοκίμασε οπωσδήποτε το Baked Falafel Wrap, το οποίο φτιάχνεται με μια λεπτή στρώση από μείγμα falafel απλωμένη στην πίτα. Επισκεφθήκαμε το Barrio που άνοιξε πρόσφατα στην οδό Στασάνδρου για τα γενέθλια της Άννας και δοκιμάσαμε διάφορα sharing πιάτα από το μενού! Τα highlight της βραδιάς ήταν τα chicken thighs (μπουτάκια κοτόπουλου - €12.5) ψημένα άψογα με σως teriyaki και Γιαπωνέζικη μαγιονέζα και οι crispy πατάτες με φέτα και σως μαγιονέζας (€5), οι οποίες ήταν απίστευτα τραγανές και μαλακές στη μέση. Η σαλάτα με γαρίδες με caesar dressing και τσιγαρισμένο αβοκάντο (€12) ήταν επίσης πολύ δροσιστική και συμπλήρωσε τέλεια το γεύμα μας!
