Souvla to sushi.

Long time wait, but finally made it to @rousrestaurant after 2 years since I last enjoyed their food experience. For those familiar with Rous, the have a 6 course dining menu that is handpicked creating you a journey of flavours to tickle your tastebuds. Fortunately for me they also have a extended experience and an a la carte menu also. Ended up doing a custom extended a la cart experience 😅 You may see the full menu on rous.com.cy Now as for my experience at Rous, I was utterly glad how it has maintained its glamour but even took it to higher levels. What clearly stood out this time was how the staff is more chilled and friendly than previous years, that I felt more serious but polite. This approach is more welcoming and I'm sure everyone would love it. As for the food, the new Executive Chef since I last came @andreas.yiangoullas would often come out and bring a dish himself which again gave the element of friendliness. Food was outstanding and loved the new menu for the season. My favourite dish surprisingly was the Red Mullet on a bed or Orzo. I mean the steak, rack of lamb, ceviche and other fish plates were all up to the same standerd, it just that I never tried Red Mullet this way before. Atmosphere & Music is superb, and looking forward to try the Chef table experience, that is located in front of the kitchen and you can see all the cooking of the night happening live. Finished the night with two dessert dishes, The lemon eton mess, which I eventually ordered a second. The apple pie is also outstanding. New in Town is @olio_cy and boy was this a pleasant surprise. With views from Nicosia's 360 tower, overlooking Stasikratous street & the chilled atmosphere, well its this winters go to place 💯 I'm just goona talk about the show stopper in this post.... The steak!! Just look a it 🤤 cooked to perfection, and served with truffle oil that you sprinkle yourself with some herb stems. Two or more can share.... But next time Im having just for me, and then going straight to dessert. Again, just order all the desserts and share, it's more fun that way! We had so many plates to share and all were better than previous. Will definitely show off some more dishes in the future. Honey you were wonderful last night.... I meant @honeymodmedrest 😈 Just walking in the the small streets of old town pafos, we came upon Honey restaurant, and thought... Hmmm. Thankfully we managed to get a table without a reservation (not advised) The food was sooo good, next time I would probably get exactly the same. The Prawns & Scallop in the sauce is a must!! I was sipping the sauce like soup at the end. Then the steak!!! Perfectly Medium Rare... and full of flavour. Also had the most fresh mozzarella salad for starters & finished the night with a huge piece of Tiramisu. Now apart from great food, something I rarely discuss is service. The service here is 💯! What a delightful experience at the refreshed @scale_restaurant located at @maphotel_nicosia Visited Scale last year when it first opened during the beginning of Covid, and really didn’t get the chance to come back with all this on/off lockdowns. Well, they were really busy fine tuning the menu during this period and boy did they get this right. From the gorgeous outside sitting area and to the new menu, this is the place to be this summer in downtown Nicosia. From the starters to mains, each dish left us with a smile on our face anticipating for the next dish. Rous (Ρούς) meaning flow or path, feels exactly like that. A journey of predefined dishes to stimulate your taste palate. We actually had the À la carte menu, which was a journey of its own. Master Chefs @spiridoula_karampoutaki & @panostogias really prove why they have risen to fame and made a name for themselves. @rousrestaurant lives the hype 👩🏻‍🦰💁🏻‍♂️ We had • Ribeye steak • Pork Tenderloin • Lavraki (sea bass) • Prawn Risotto • Gnocchi • Rabbit meatballs • Caesar Salad And of course I had the Machalepi and another of my favourite desserts, the Portokalopita (Orange Pie) infused with ice-cream.
