So now at @mayiopoula we have 2 new separate menus, the new lunch menu by @siantris79 & the dinner menu by @andrew_tzo which I'll be trying soon also. @siantris79 operated in old town Nicosia, but now found it's new home at @mayiopoula and available weekdays for lunch. Mayiopoula now serves you classic lunch choices like Louvi, Fasoles, Afelia, Pasta with beef and that lamb with those traditional extra crispy sticky oven potatoes 😋 More menu items are available daily so follow their social media to be informed of menu items. The food is exceptionally good as you would expect from this well established restaurant. Portions are big, so I suggest sharing as to try more of each dish. What another great find in the heart of Nicosia @topikamezebar is! Topika (meaning Local in greek) gets it's name from the concept of the restaurant. All ingredients are local and home grown either from their own plot in Flasou village or neighbouring farmers. These are all used to cook up some tasty, fresh and unique dishes. The dishes are so well balanced between each other, I would recommend getting various from the starter section, 1-2 fresh salads to share and a couple of fish dishes and 1 meat dish. Finally had the most delicious home made Baklava Cheesecake that was the special of the day. I got a couple of DM's to try some more desserts, but I'll save those for another day! Btw, the cocktails here are so refreshing with vibes of summer flavours All in all, @topikamezebar is highly recommended without a doubt!!! Summer 🔆 in Protaras means meze, and there's only a handful of restaurants I can clearly recommend, and Mezedopolio Kyklos by @sunrisehotelsprotaras is one of them. Located in the main Protaras road, its not hard to miss because of the the classy & inviting exterior decor. The food was traditional Greek cuisine with must try plates like Mousakka, Lamb chops and fresh salads like Dakos and Baby spinach. Thursday's is Live music nights and the tourist seem to enjoy it as much as the locals. Another hotspot in protaras to save for this summer 😍

New in Town is @olio_cy and boy was this a pleasant surprise. With views from Nicosia's 360 tower, overlooking Stasikratous street & the chilled atmosphere, well its this winters go to place 💯 I'm just goona talk about the show stopper in this post.... The steak!! Just look a it 🤤 cooked to perfection, and served with truffle oil that you sprinkle yourself with some herb stems. Two or more can share.... But next time Im having just for me, and then going straight to dessert. Again, just order all the desserts and share, it's more fun that way! We had so many plates to share and all were better than previous. Will definitely show off some more dishes in the future. Now they've taken a twist on it and made a Nutella with Crunchy hazelnuts version. Its a must for all chocolate lovers out there. Today I'll start by showing you this hidden gem in Limassol @kissos_taverna Now let's talk about the concept of this restaurant. When you first enter this cosy restaurant, you're surrounded by the vibrant colors of various houses, as if your on a greek island all under hanging tree leaves in a cool well air conditioned space (even though it was 40 degrees outside). The surrounding walls are 4 different houses with their own setup and all share the same garden, this garden is the seating area. Check out the photos I've added. It also has one of the largest fish tanks with 100's of fish (swipe 👉🏻 to see the video) It's a fish tavern bit also has other meat selections for the whole family. Another new entry during covid times, is @palaia_elia Attempted to go twice but stood impossible during these times, so now was my chance. The cuisine is I would say a mixup between Greek & Cypriot food. Each dish is beautifully presented so its a joy just to see whats placed infront of you. Friday night & the place to be this summer! Sit back, have a cocktail and share various dishes with friends in the chill atmosphere of @bastione_bar_restaurant Now the food! It's a totally new menu inspired by Greek/Cypriot recipes but with an elevated twist! 😋 The Ravioli with beetroot and stuffed goat cheese is a must to order! Everything was just superb! Μαστιχόματα 2020 Quarantine Edition! These traditional Easter Breads with Mastic Aroma and a fluffy inside are to, well lets say break your diet for! Traditionally eaten as is, but I like mine with a layer of Nutella & Marscapone cheese 🤤 #eimeliksis • • Ingredients For the yeast starter * 2 cups warm milk * 4 sachets instant dried yeast * 2 cups of flour • • We need 2 kilos All purpose flour for the whole recipe For rest of loaf * 8 eggs * 500gr unsalted butter * 2 cups sugar * 1/2 tsp ground mahleb * 1/2 tsp ground mastic * Remainder of flour from the 2 kilos • To top * 1 egg mix * Vanilla sugar as desired * Almond flakes as desired • • Instructions• • In a large bowl mix together the warm milk with yeast give a good stir and then add 2 cups of sift flour. And stir again. Cover with cling film and leave to rest for 1 hour • Now that your yeast starter is ready, we add beaten eggs, melted butter, sugar, mastic, mehlepi & the rest of the flour. Mix thoroughly and knead the dough with your hands. Cover with cling film and a towel on top. Let it rest for 4 hrs • Now, tip the dough onto a clean surface and knead for around 5 minutes to stretch the dough. Cut in 6 equal pieces • Each separate piece, slice into 3 logs, and braid your easter bread • Transfer the easter breads to the baking trays, brush with the egg mix, sprinkle vanilla sugar and decorate with almonds on top • Set aside in a slightly warm place for a good 3 hours until it has doubled in size • Preheat oven to 160C.
