Established since 1932, @athinaikon serves traditional style Greek food with a modern approach! Visited for lunch for the first time and I must say that I was quite impressed with the exceptional service and the delicious food. Started our lunch with two appetizers, the stuffed zucchini flowers with feta and seasonal boiled greens (spiny chicory) and for mains we had drunken chicken with rice and beef stew with fresh mushrooms in dried tomato sauce and grated pecorino from Amphilochia! It’s not just a hotel, it is a market, cafe and Restaurant in the heart of Athens! I first walked into @ergonhouse in Skiathos in 2015 and dined in there for 6 days out of the 11 that I was on the Island. I also went twice to the one in Thessaloniki, of course I loved it as well! However, this was the first time visiting the one in Athens! What a great place! Amazing market, insane variety of high quality products to buy and of course a spectacular Restaurant to dine in! Started our dinner with delicious dolmadakia “kebab”, greek salad, best french fries and for mains we had the beef cheeks with crunchy trachana and goat cheese, the beef melts into your mouth like butter- check out slide 7! HEALTHY, EASY AND DELICIOUS CHICKEN GYRO RECIPE! 🌯 • • INGREDIENTS: (3 servings) • • 2 Chicken Fillets, cut into thin strips 1/2 classic tomato sauce (small Primo Gusto carton) 3-4 tbsp dry oregano 2 cloves garlic, cut into thick slices 2 medium sized onions, cut into thin slices 4 tbsp olive oil Salt and pepper to taste • • STEPS • • 1. Marinate the chicken by adding all the ingredients into a medium sized pyrex, mix them well, cover with cling film and put in the fridge for at least 3 hours (for best results leave overnight) 2. Preheat the oven to 180•c. 3. Remove the cling film and cover with foil 4. Put in the oven with the foil for 20 minutes. 5. Remove the foil and turn temperature to 200•c and cook for a further 10-15 minutes. 6.
