Sushi Yama is a traditional Japanese restaurant and serves the most fresh sushi, sashimi and warm Japanese dishes all inspired by real Japanese flavours and prepared by experienced sushi chefs.
In the menu you'll find some signature sushi rolls, like shrimp tempura roll, rainbow roll and my favourite seared salmon roll with truffle mayo.
Get the sushi for starters along with a salad and maybe a beef tataki if you like thinly sliced beef slices.
The warm dishes are great for sharing, so strongly advised to get a popcorn shrimp (its spicy 🍤🌶) and the signature Nanban Chicken!

They have baobuns, sushi rolls and a large variety of hot dishes. Best part is that you can make a reservation without being a guest at the hotel.
Wait no, the best part are the awesome rooftop views of Ayia Napa, and since it opens at 7pm, you get to witness the most amazing Cypriot sunset 🌅
They also have a great selection of cocktails 🍹 to enjoy while sitting by the rooftop bar area.
Gather a group of friends and just call 23819100 to make sure you’ll find a table. Also Napa Suites is a adults only hotel, so the atmosphere is really chill where you can have a descent chat amongst friends while taking down 4 dozens of sushi rolls 🤭

Before I started @cypruseats my goto restaurant was @akakikocy and somewhere down the track I kindof got sidetracked. Well, Thursday brought back alot of good memories from when eating out used to be an experience.
The renovated Akakiko at Hilton Nicosia with new exciting dishes and some fresh faces (very friendly staff btw) really took me back to when it was first located in Makariou Ave some 20 years ago (yes I'm that old)
The maki rolls all seem to have had an upgrade with more bold flavours & colors leaving me to wonder, should've I ordered more rolls that caught my eye, definitely next time.
I found a great variety of Wagyu dishes, so I went for the Wagyu Tataki, thinly sliced pieces of raw wagyu in soy sauce. Also got some beef gyoza to accompany as a starter. Both recommended.
Another must is the Popcorn Shrimps 🤌🏻 💯
They have a good selection of Bao Buns, which maybe next time I'll go for the prawn bao buns, as the table next to me ordered and I felt like getting up just to go and ask if I could take a photo (but that would be awkward😅)
Another favourite at Akakiko are the soups. I would usually just go get a soup and was enough to fill me up back then, and I can say, its still a huge portion that any normal person can easily have as a whole meal (but Im not normal 🙄)
Finally desserts. I had a hard time choosing from the six choices, but I knew anymore than 2 would just have people next to me wondering what the hell is wrong with me.
The chocolate sphere is the best seller for a reason. Try it!!!

This newest addition in Nicosia is one that cant go unnoticed. Love the funky vibes and vibrant colors of @sushistar.cyprus Although they are new in Cyprus, the have been around for years in our neighbour country of Lebanon with 12 stores.
So I got a 24 piece box and went for a selection of some fruity rolls with mango, strawberries and pineapple. Also added some classic rolls in the mix.
One thing that you immediately notice is the freshness of the ingredients and the aroma when you unbox the sushi from the funky packaging.
As for the food, it really stands out from other sushi places with its unique twist on flavours.
What I really liked was that they do a thin layer of rice for the rolls, but substitute the size with larger pieces of fish and ingredients. It's sometimes a factor when i want to eat maki rolls because I try to avoid rice.... So know I know where to get a lighter version of my favourite cuisine.

I mean a person's gotta eat! So @av_ramen by @chef_avraam_ came to mind!! First tried Chef Avraams food at a streetfood event during the summer. Had the most insane burger back then! Then it was followed by a Spanish paella rooftop event again another great feast.
Now his Ramen concept 🍜 just shows how versatile of a chef he is.
What I loved about these ramen bowls, is that they came deconstructed, so the noodles didn't over cook by the time they got delivered, the broth stayed warm and the egg ramained perfectly runny inside once you cut it. I think you can tell from the photo!

Love the new menu additions. Really can't describe the food cause I only had a simple lunch, but it all looked great, took me 20 min to decide on what to get!

Had a great selection of cold & hot dishes for a truly unique experience.
The black cod really stood out for me, but the raw fish in every dish were also of outstanding quality and superb flavours.
Can't wait for my next birthday experience, hoping it will top this!

🇯🇵JAPANESE FLUFFY PANCAKES🥞
First tried these in London, and been meaning to do these for a while! Was it worth the hassle? Hell yeah! 🤤 •

Food Rings
Pan with lid
Electric Mixer
Spatula
2 Mixing Bowls
•
-Ingredients
3/4 cup All Purpose Flour
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/4 tsp Baking Soda
3/4 cup Sugar
3 Large Eggs (2 yolks, 3 whites)
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/4 Cup Milk
1 Can Cooking Spray
1 tbsp Vegetable Oil -Instructions
Separate the egg yolks and whites into two separate containers.
Sift all of the flour over a large mixing bowl.
Add the baking powder and baking soda and mix with a whisk.
Get the egg whites from the second large mixing bowl. Add 1/3 of sugar and beat with an electric mixer. Then add some more of sugar and whip until stiff peaks form. Finally add remaining sugar. It takes about 2-3 minutes. This will form a meringue.
Add the vanilla, egg yolks and milk to the 1st bowl with the dry ingredients. Using a whisk mix until you get a nice smooth batter. If the batter is thick add a little extra milk until you get a cake like batter.
Gently add in the meringue to the batter. Mix lightly using the whisk until it is all incorporated.
Let the batter sit for at least 10 minutes for the baking powder and baking soda to react. This will give you a spongier pancake.
Preheat a non stick pan over low / medium heat.
Add a little bit of vegetable oil to the cooking surface and place a 2 inch by 2.75 inch "food ring" on top of it.
Spray the inside of the ring with cooking spray and pour in your batter.
If making 1/4 inch pancakes let them cook for 2 minutes, if cooking thicker 1/2 inch pancakes let them cook for 5 minutes. Add a few droplets of water around the rings to make it steam and put the lid on.
Remove the ring with tongs (the ring will be hot) and then flip the pancake. Cook an additional 2 minutes for 1/4 inch pancakes and 2.5 minutes for 1/2 inch pancakes.
For best results serve immediately
