We tried the new restaurant in Nicosia everyone’s talking about! Sumosan Cyprus has officially opened its doors at The Landmark Nicosia Hotel, serving contemporary Japanese dishes and unique signature cocktails in a stylish space. We tried a selection of dishes from the menu, from sushi to some of their unique mains. Imagine having one of only 5 front-row seats with the chef preparing 15 Japanese dishes in front of you - this was our Omakase experience at Shinseina restaurant in Larnaca. The restaurant uses some of the finest ingredients, including high quality fish like bluefish tuna and premium wagyu meat. The rice they use for their nigiris is brought from Japan and served at room temperature to bring out its unique flavor - so you really shouldn’t dip your nigiri in soy sauce! We tried the intimate “Luxury Unfolded” experience, priced at €100/person (reservations mandatory). We really loved the attention to detail, spot on flavors and beautiful atmosphere at Shibui, Limassol’s gourmet Asian spot! We tried the tempura broccoli, served with the best roasted sesame sauce, the salmon tataki and avocado handroll, the gyoza and two of their sushi rolls, the eel/spicy shrimp roll and the Philadelphia roll. Why have a regular sandwich when you can have a sushi sandwich?! This onigirazu (aka sushi sandwich) is really easy to make and you can add any ingredients you like! Make sure to save this reel for later 📌 Ingredients (makes one) • 1/2 cup oriental express sushi rice • 2 sheets of oriental express nori • 1/2 avocado • 2 slices of spam • 2 eggs • Oriental Express sriracha • 1 tbsp light say sauce • 1 tsp sugar For dipping: • Oriental Express sweet chili sauce • Oriental Express wasabi paste mixed with 1/3 cup mayonnaise Cook the rice according to the instructions and let it cool down completely. Cook the spam in a pan until crispy. Mix the soy sauce and sugar together and pour on top of the spam while it's cooking. Let it cook for another minute and set aside. Beat the eggs and make a thin omelet, folded into a square. Place a large piece of plastic wrap on the counter or on a plate with a sheet of nori on top. Add half of the cooked rice in the middle, forming a small square. Top with the omelet, spam, avocado and sriracha sauce and finish with the remaining rice. Take another piece of nori and cut into four equal square pieces. Take one of the squares and place on top of the rice. Wrap the first nori to cover the sides of the sushi sandwich and wrap tightly with the plastic wrap. It doesn't matter if the wrapping is a bit messy, it still tastes delicious! 🍚 We love hearing about new places opening in Cyprus and we were very excited to try the new Poke Scuse in Larnaca! 🧡 You definitely can't find many poke shops in Cyprus so we were extra happy to discover this one! The poke was absolutely delicious with fresh ingredients and very filling bowls. 🌾 You can select from five different bases, including sushi rice, black or brown rice, basmati rice or salad and a lot of different toppings. Or you can pick one of the options on the menu. We went with one of each and both were equally delicious! Here's what we tried in case you want to get the same: 🌶️ Lava bowl: Sushi rice, tuna, salmon, pomegranate, red cabbage, carrots, green onion, orange tobiko, chili pepper, sesame seeds, Sriracha sauce. *this one's spicy but you can replace the Sriracha with spicy mayo if you want it a bit more mild and it will be equally delicious. 🥭 Make your own: Sushi rice, salmon, mango, wakame salad, avocado, green onion, crispy onions, sesame seeds, avocado sauce, spicy mayo sauce. #pokebowl #poke #larnacacyprus

Summer dinner dates with a view of the @ayianapamarina along with an amazing sushi dinner, cocktails and wine at @sushiyamacyprus! We went with some incredibly fresh sashimi, nigiri and makis along with some popcorn shrimp and a selection of the grilled skewers. The passion-fruit and zivania cocktail was among some of the best we tried, and the blue wine was sweet and refreshing!
