@topatrikon is a one-of-a-kind restaurant in Cyprus: they honor Cypriot ingredients and Cypriot cuisine in a fine dining setting. The new seasonal menu is here and is available as 5-course (€45), 6-course (€60) or 8-course (€80). A wine-pairing with Cypriot wines is also offered for an extra charge. We tried the 6-course dinner and were astonished by the combinations of flavours and textures! Kudos to @chef_kiriakosfokou ! As a starter, you get the sourdough bread with herbed pork fat, pitta tis satzis with buttermilk, honey and almonds. Then comes a torched onion with mushroom juice, asparagus, jerusalem artichoke truffle oil and coffee (one of our fav dishes!) Next up is a twist on makaronia tou fournou: beef tartare with crispy pasta, kaskavalli bechamel and choiromeri - such a unique dish! Fish of the day follows. We had the cod with savoro sauce, squid, carob vinegar and maggaloi - tender, fried to perfection. Final main was the pork tenderloin with beetroot and clementine, yoghurt and kolokasi fries. A dessert we’ll definitely remember: rose and jasmine mousse in a meringue, lying on a bed of pastichi, with citrus fruit. The perfect balance of sweetness. Safe to say we’ll be back for more. We’re very to see young people honoring the Cypriot cuisine with such love and excitement. Few days ago we celebrated our wedding anniversary at @beefbar_cyprus @amarahotelcy It was our first time visiting and we were impressed by the ambience and decor (random, but I loved the travertine table ☺️) and although it was a weekday it was almost full! Let’s talk about the food: delicious! We had the terroir fillet which comes with a choice of sauce & fries (medium rare cook, ofc), the double smashed burger and for starters the KFC chicken and beef dumplings. The steak was cooked on point, it was soo tender and we loved the spices on the crust. The burger was delicious, the bun was so soft! The KFC chicken - I would eat this every day 😂 The dumplings were nice but definitely outshined by the other dishes. There wasn’t any bread/ amuse bouche offered, which was a bit of a bummer. They have a great selection of wines and a lot of Cypriot ones as well - something we always appreciate in a menu. The staff were very attentive and polite.
