Easy Halloumi Pies at Home 🥟✨
Forget the bakery, these homemade halloumottes taste just like yiayia used to make! With simple ingredients and authentic Cypriot halloumi from @kornos_dairy , you’ll have golden, cheesy pies straight out of the oven. Crispy on the outside, soft and cheesy on the inside, and dangerously addictive.
Would you make 3 big ones or 4 medium? 👀

📝 Ingredients
• 250ml water
• 50ml oil (sunflower or olive oil)
• 1 tsp sugar
• 1 tsp salt
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 sachet yeast (7g)
• 500g village-style flour
• 2 blocks Kornos goat & sheep halloumi (in brine or individual packs)
• Dried mint (to taste)
👩🍳 Method of Preparation
1. In a bowl (or mixer), add water, oil, sugar, salt, and yeast. Mix for 1 minute or whisk by hand.
2. Add mint, baking powder, and flour. Mix for another minute or knead by hand for 2–3 minutes until a dough forms.
3. Cut the halloumi into large cubes and fold into the dough. Mix for 25 seconds or knead until evenly combined.
4. Shape the dough into 3 large or 4 medium balls. (If mixing by hand let the dough rest so the yeast can activate, I used a thermomix at 30°C temp to mix)
5. Place on a tray and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool slightly, then enjoy warm — crispy outside, soft & cheesy inside
