🍳 Who doesn't like a good brunch at the village? Located in Politiko village, at @filimon_gefseis you can try anything from traditional boukkoma to Cypriot "tacos", all made using homemade products. We tried the Cypriot version of shakshuka (Πομιλοροτιάνιση) as well as an alternative French toast (Το Πόπαστον) made with anari cheese, cinnamon and honey that tasted exactly like pourekkia with anari! So now at @mayiopoula we have 2 new separate menus, the new lunch menu by @siantris79 & the dinner menu by @andrew_tzo which I'll be trying soon also. @siantris79 operated in old town Nicosia, but now found it's new home at @mayiopoula and available weekdays for lunch. Mayiopoula now serves you classic lunch choices like Louvi, Fasoles, Afelia, Pasta with beef and that lamb with those traditional extra crispy sticky oven potatoes 😋 More menu items are available daily so follow their social media to be informed of menu items. The food is exceptionally good as you would expect from this well established restaurant. Portions are big, so I suggest sharing as to try more of each dish. What another great find in the heart of Nicosia @topikamezebar is! Topika (meaning Local in greek) gets it's name from the concept of the restaurant. All ingredients are local and home grown either from their own plot in Flasou village or neighbouring farmers. These are all used to cook up some tasty, fresh and unique dishes. The dishes are so well balanced between each other, I would recommend getting various from the starter section, 1-2 fresh salads to share and a couple of fish dishes and 1 meat dish. Finally had the most delicious home made Baklava Cheesecake that was the special of the day. I got a couple of DM's to try some more desserts, but I'll save those for another day! Btw, the cocktails here are so refreshing with vibes of summer flavours All in all, @topikamezebar is highly recommended without a doubt!!! Simple things🤤at @costas_tavern Don't you just love it when friends call you last minute and tell you 'πάμεν να φάμεν σουβλάκια' (lets go for souvlaki) And they introduce you to a new place with awesome food and a freakishly good time! That was last night. When I posted the stories I had no clue that so many people already knew about this place! They do not have Instagram nor facebook; nothing on social media! Located in Paramali Village, the Restaurant Giannis well known as Giannis Afierosoullas (they nicknamed him Afierosoullas after dedicating a song on the radio many many years ago), welcomes every customer with a big smile and excitement making everyone feel like they are home! Every table gets served a variety of appetizers including a big salad, tahini, hummus, tzatziki, amazing green olives, avocado, potato and beetroot salad and pitta bread all which are included in the price of whatever you choose to order as a main! I went with a medium Diane steak, a perfectly medium cooked meat that literally melts in your mouth! Not the typical Diane sauce we all know but tasty though! My suggestion is to ask for the sauce separately! Every steak comes with a side of fresh fries. Steak cost 24euros and you get to choose from fillet steak or rib eye steak. For desserts we had the apple pie and galaktopourekko, both made by Mr Giannis, served with vanilla ice cream! The apple pie was a clear winner, order it but do not share it like i did! It was such a pleasure visiting this place, as we got to try the delicious food at very reasonable prices and the best part was meeting Mr Giannis who is one of the kindest, welcoming and funny owners! And Wednesday was that day!! What a pleasant surprise from the restaurants ambiance to the mouth watering food. Must try is the Pasta with Beef, Boiled Halloumi, Kolokokiftedes, Saganaki, and fried poulles (instead of potato fries) I could go on about every dish, but I advise you to try out yourselves, and let me know if im right. Look at that perfectly cooked egg 🍳 on the bed of Cypriot sausages 🤤 Finally get all three desserts and share.
